ABOUT US
Safety and Security Expo is a women-owned business, founded by Lew and Clare Shomer and a team of veteran marketing, sales, finance and operations professionals with more than 100 years of experience in the organization and production of Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer Trade Shows.
Lew (CEO) was Vice President of Marketing and Sales for the Interface Group, producers of COMDEX, the leading trade US show during the computer transition from mainframe to personal computers.
Clare and Lew went on to start Shomex Productions, becoming the nation’s leading producer of Diversity Career Fairs.
With sponsors like Wells Fargo, IBM and KCBS (San Francisco), they started Small Business World, an Expo for Small Business Owners.
In 2008, Clare, Lew and their business partner acquired Abilities Expo, the nation’s largest B2C Expo for the disability community. They revitalized the event, taking it from 2 shows in Los Angeles and New York, to 7 regional marketplaces. In 2024 the show was sold to an International Media Group based in the UK.
